Deleting your account will permanently remove all your data, including child profiles, progress, and preferences.

How to Delete Your Account

To delete your Kids Can Spell account, follow these steps in the mobile app:

  1. Open the Kids Can Spell app on your iOS or Android device
  2. Sign in with your parent account
  3. Tap the Settings icon (⚙️) at the bottom of the screen
  4. Scroll down to the "Account" section
  5. Tap "Delete Account"
  6. Review the data that will be deleted
  7. Confirm the deletion when prompted
  8. Your account will be permanently deleted

What Data Gets Deleted

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:

  • ✓ Your parent account (name and email address)
  • ✓ All child profiles (names and avatars)
  • ✓ All learning progress and statistics (levels, scores, attempts)
  • ✓ App preferences and settings (theme, sound, notifications)
  • ✓ Login credentials and sessions (OAuth connections, passwords)

What Data is Retained

We retain minimal information for legal compliance only:

  • • Transaction records: RevenueCat (our payment processor) may retain minimal transaction data for accounting and legal compliance. This does not include personal or learning data.

No personal data, child profiles, or learning progress is retained after deletion.

Deletion Timeline

  • • Immediate: Account deletion is processed immediately and cannot be undone
  • • No recovery period: There is no grace period or way to recover your data after deletion
  • • Subscription access: If you have an active subscription, access will end immediately upon deletion

Consider These Alternatives

Before deleting your account, you might want to consider:

  • 📧 Export Your Data: Contact [email protected] to request a copy of your data before deletion
  • ⏸️ Cancel Subscription: You can cancel your subscription and keep your progress by going to Settings → Subscription instead of deleting your account
  • 👥 Delete Individual Profiles: You can delete specific child profiles without deleting your entire account
